Florence's story

Be in with a chance to win a signed copy of the classic, first time cook-book, Delia's Complete Cookery Course, in honour of this year's Lent Appeal.

The film features the story of Florence, a widow from Northern Zambia whose life was transformed through fishing.

When her husband died in a mining accident, Florence, 41, struggled to make a living.  But thanks to the generosity of CAFOD supporters, our partners in the area, the Sisters of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, gave Florence tiny fish the size of a thumb and taught her how to build fish ponds and care for the growing fishes.

This has now turned in a thriving business, not only enabling Florence to provide for her children’s future but a valuable skill she has passed on to others - transforming the lives of those in her local community.
