Campaign volunteer resources
CAFOD’s campaigning tackles the causes of poverty and injustice, not just the symptoms. When the Catholic community speaks out together, we have a powerful voice.
Campaign volunteers enable and inspire people in their parishes and communities to take action as part in CAFOD’s campaigns. If you’re already a local campaign volunteer, here are all the resources you need to inspire your community to get involved with our latest campaigns.

Our Common Home

Our Common Home
Climate change affects our health, our homes, our heritage and our beautiful landscapes. It ruins the work we do to fight poverty and to lead better lives. We have made huge progress on climate change, but things are urgent now.
We need to work together to go further, faster to end climate change. Together we Catholics can turn the tide. We can treat our home with respect by leading the way, taking responsibility and forging new habits. We can call on politicians to go further and faster with emissions cuts.
As a campaign volunteer, you can encourage your parish or group to take part in CAFOD’s Our Common Home campaign by organising a Creation Celebration (Mass and shared meal) in your community. Send a powerful message to world leaders that they too need to go further, faster to avert climate breakdown.
Here you can find all the resources you need to introduce Our Common Home, including an organiser's guide, promtional posters and links to order more resources. Please organise a Creation Celebration in your community and return the petitions to CAFOD, so that we can add your signatures to other campaigners around the country.

Become a livesimply award community

Member of St Benedict’s church in Leeds diocese which became a livesimply award community in 2016
As a campaign volunteer, you can make a plan with your community to apply for a livesimply award.
The livesimply award is an opportunity for Catholic communities - parishes, schools, religious orders and chaplaincies - to respond to Pope Francis’ invitation in Laudato Si' to “work with generosity and tenderness in protecting this world which God has entrusted to us”. Read more background to the livesimply award.
The award application shows how your community has been living:
• simply
• in solidarity with people in poverty
• sustainably with creation.
Your plan can include new and ongoing activities. Use the resources below to get started.
