Connect2 El Salvador
In 1980, Archbishop Oscar Romero was killed for speaking out against poverty. Decades later, many people in El Salvador still live on less than a dollar a day.
Your Connect2 journey will be with the people of Puentecitos, a small village near the border of Guatemala, who are improving community life by opening small businesses and using organic farming methods.
CAFOD staff member, Deborah Purfield, went on the Romero Trust pilgrimage to El Salvador in November 2017. On the last day, she visited Puentecitos: Read Deborah's blog about her visit to Puentecitos.
Please check back for our next update from Puentecitos in March 2018.
This year, our Lent appeal focuses on fighting hunger and malnutrition in Zimbabwe.
Money raised towards our Lent appeal between Shrove Tuesday 13 February and Saturday 12 May will be doubled by the UK Government, up to £5 million, making double the difference.
