CAFOD is proud to be a member of Your Catholic Legacy  - a group of 27 charities working together to protect the future of Catholic good causes by spreading the word about legacy gifts in wills.

Being a Christian has shaped my life; it’s who I am. That’s why leaving a gift in my Will to a Catholic charity seems the right thing to do. It simply makes sense to me.

Every day, millions of people around the world are helped by Catholic organisations and the Church.  In turn, Catholic causes depend upon the kindness of the Catholic community; and especially gifts left in the wills of parishioners and supporters.

That’s why Catholic charities have come together to raise awareness of the difference legacy gifts to Catholic charities make to people in need.

Speaking at the launch of the campaign, Archbishop Peter Smith of Southwark said: “I don’t think people fully appreciate how much Catholic charities put into care of the poor, the homeless, prisoners and other vulnerable groups.”

“Legacies play a crucial role in funding the work of Catholic charities. No matter how big or small, a charitable gift in your will brings hope to poor communities across the globe, enables the sharing of God’s love and provides those in greatest need with a vital lifeline.”

Whether you leave a little something for your local community, a national service or aid projects and missions in developing countries; you can leave a legacy of love and hope to people in their hour of need.
