Meet our new director in June in London or Manchester
For the first time in years, we are holding two national gatherings for CAFOD volunteers in June, and we’d love you to attend one of them. It will be a chance to meet and hear from our new director, Christine Allen, and to chat to some of CAFOD’s Trustees and Central Leadership Team. Together we will explore our mission as we look to the future.
London, Saturday 8 June: Westminster Catholic Cathedral Hall, Ambrosden Ave, Westminster SW1P 1QH. Book your place here.
Manchester, Saturday 15 June: Venue tbc, but please reserve your place here.
Plan your summer Creation Celebration
We’re very excited to share the resources for our new campaign, Our Common Home. We are calling on the UK government to be more ambitious with climate action. We need our leaders to set a ‘net-zero’ emissions target before 2045, meaning that the emissions we put into the atmosphere are no greater than the ones we remove.
We are asking parishes to hold a Creation Celebration during the summer, which is a mass, followed by food and conversation, and a petition to show your group’s support. If you are the CAFOD Campaigns Volunteer in your parish, you’ll be sent an Organisers’ Guide with your Campaigns Update any time now. For more see our climate page.
Come to The Time is Now in London on Wednesday 26 June
As people of faith, we’re determined to speak up for our common home in the face of the climate crisis, and on 26 June we’ll come together with 100 other organisations to meet our MPs and make our voices heard.
You can sign up to join the day here. You can also sign up for a discounted coach service – the CAFOD Climate Pilgrimage - which will go from most dioceses. Find out more. Here is a flyer to promote the day.
