Harvest Family Fast Day, Friday 1 October
This Harvest Family Fast Day we are focusing on the climate crisis. In low-income countries, like Ivanilde in Brazil (pictured), suffer the worst effects of the climate crisis. CAFOD works with communities all over the world to help them adapt and manage the impact of climate change.
Your Fast Day pack should have arrived by now. Parish packs including envelopes should arrive around 9th September.
Ask your parish priest if you can speak at Masses on the weekend of 25/26 September or 2/3 October about our Climate Crisis Appeal and arrange for the collection to be held.
Place a notice about the appeal in your parish newsletter, and download an image for parish Facebook or other social media pages.

Season of Creation
The Season of Creation runs from 1 September to 4 October. We give thanks for all that God has made, repent for the damage that we have caused and commit ourselves to take action to protect the earth our common home.
Book your place here at our Faith in Action day online on Saturday 11 September from 11am - 4pm. to learn about the COP26 climate talks and how environmental defenders are fighting for the Amazon.
CAFOD responds to emergency situations around the world. We are currently responding to the crisis in Afghanistan, the earthquake in Haiti and extreme hunger in north-east Nigeria, South Sudan and Ethiopia’s Tigray region.

Go Green this Harvest
As part of our Climate Crisis Appeal, Go Green. In your parish or with your family and friends, you could get together to enjoy a planet-friendly meal for Family Fast Day on 1 October. Eat veggie, vegan, locally sourced or organic, and raise money to support our sisters and brothers around the world suffering because of the climate crisis.
