Ecological Crisis and Motivations for Change
The beginning of October is the eve of the gathering of the Synod of Bishops on Pan-Amazonia. As the gaze of the Church turns towards the Amazon territory, contemplating its destruction and the brave response of its protectors and defenders, two speakers from the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies in Potsdam, Germany, Dr Katharina Beyerl and Dr Oliver Putz, will speak about how we can change in the face of the ecological crisis, and the role faith has in this. To benefit from their expertise in environmental psychology, theology and biology, listen live or listen afterwards.
Harvest Family Fast day: Thank you!
Many thanks for all you have done for Harvest Family Fast Day in your parish. We appreciate the efforts you have made to hold the Fast Day collection. Speaking at Mass, putting up posters and hosting soup lunches is so valuable in raising awareness of CAFOD’s work and inspiring parishioners to be generous and help transform lives.
Please watch this 2 minute video to see Fabiano’s story.
If you have any stories of parish events, or something you’d like to share about how you have found Fast Day, we’d love to hear it. Your feedback is heard and is used to design resources which parishioners find more inspiring. To collect your experiences of how Fast Day was received in your parish we will be sending you a survey over the next few days via email.
Book now for a Faith in Action Day
From Trump to Brexit to climate, politics is everywhere. But when should we pray from the sidelines and when should we roll up our sleeves and get involved?
The Church here and around the world has a proud history of encouraging Catholics’ political reflection and action. With amazing results.
At this CAFOD day in November, we’ll explore the links between faith and politics.
Join us and reflect on Scripture and Church teaching. Be inspired by others and CAFOD’s campaigning and work overseas.
