Update on COVID-19

A big thank you for supporting the Coronavirus Appeal and also our Unite against coronavirus petition. This month we are encouraging you to support us with the following.

Help us make this a Harvest Like No Other

Let’s bring our parish communities together to help the poorest and most vulnerable people in the world survive, rebuild and heal.

A family sitting together

Asal and her children sit together. For so many families like Asal's, coronavirus has meant their lives will never be the same.

We have adapted our approach to Harvest Fast Day, consistent with the Church’s guidance on second collections. We will be asking you to work with your parish priests to remind your parish of the CAFOD collection and provide options to donate online or via text, use envelopes or contactless devices. We will also ask you to invite your fellow parishioners to our planned virtual events over 9-11 October to mark Harvest Fast Day.

Thank you for signing our petition

Ebola worker in Sierra Leone

Your donations provided our burial teams with training and materials. Meet some of the Sierra Leoneans who worked so hard to eradicate Ebola.

We will hand the petition into government this month. Other organisations have been speaking out about this too and together we have almost a million signatures.

Our local experts from Caritas Zambia will be giving an online talkon Thursday 17 September, 6pm-7pm to explain why, in light of COVID-19, it is more important than ever to cancel debt.
