In this familiar story of the prodigal son, we are reminded of God’s great love for us. The parable reassures us that no matter what we do, if we turn back to God and seek forgiveness, he will welcome us back with open arms.
We give thanks for God’s care for each of as us as his sons and daughters. On Mothering Sunday, we also celebrate the love we have received from our mothers, and from all those who have cared for us, through our lives.
