“'I am the handmaid of the Lord,’ said Mary, ‘let what you have said be done to me.'”
Today is the Feast of the Annunciation of the Lord.
Mary is told that she will have a baby, who will be the Son of God. She puts aside her own concerns, the hopes and plans that she may have had for her future and says ‘yes’. Through her generous response to God, Jesus enters the world to bring salvation to all.
Are we willing to be like Mary, and say ‘yes’ to what God asks of us?
