Widening our tent: Journeying with communities and caring for creation
Facing crises such as climate change and poverty, our sisters and brothers are responding with resilience and hope to be artisans of their own destiny. How might we stand in solidarity with our global neighbours? What is the importance of accompaniment and local networks?

What to expect from the event
We are grateful to be joined by experts including Father Ed O’Connell, a Columban missionary priest, who has spent 36 years with parish communities and young people on the northern outskirts of Lima, Peru. Fr Ed has also spent 14 years in Britain supporting Justice and Peace groups to respond to issues affecting marginalised communities.
We will also hear insights from the Land Pastoral Commission of Paraíba (CPT), an organisation founded by Brazil's Bishops' conference, who accompany farmers in Northeast Brazil to revive ancestral knowledge about environmentally friendly ways of farming. Tania from CPT is pictured above, along with farmer Iolanda who has been accompanied by CPT.
Through sharing stories and personal insights from Peru, Brazil, and from your own experiences, we will reflect together on the importance of local networks, accompaniment and standing in solidarity with our global neighbours.
We very much look forward to welcoming you on the day. Once registered, a Zoom link will be emailed to you nearer to the time of the event.
