Imaginative Contemplation (28 May)

Steve says:

Hello CAFOD, my favourite charity and joint favourite part of the Catholic Church along with the Jesuits, for whom I work. On Tuesday 28th May 7-8pm I look forward to meeting some of you and sharing with you one of the Top 10 (top 1 truth be told) Jesuit/Ignatian ways of praying. We shall be visiting first century Nazareth to see Jesus discerning what part of the scriptures best represents his Mission Statement. You may know it. Actually, in CAFOD, you live it. We'll be praying imaginatively and contemplatively doing what we call in the trade (this next bit will surprise you): Imaginative Contemplation. Great way of praying. Jesus loves it. So do I. OK if you fall asleep as your cameras will be off most of the time. And whether you do, or don't, you might just get to see Jesus doing his thing and enjoying the expression of his vocation. According to Luke he also basically gives a ten word killer sermon. (Ordained, take note!)

A part of the hour will involve you saying hello to other CAFOD workers/supporters.

I have worked for the Jesuits for almost 19 years having previously taught RE in a school and been a lay chaplain in a university. I live in Lancaster, am married to Kate, and am the world champion balloon kitchen tennis player. It's been a long winter. I think spring may be coming. Surely by May 28th.

Can anything good come from Nazareth? Let's find out.
