Nana Anto-Awuakye is the Head of our World News Unit, and has worked at CAFOD since August 2005. She has previously been a BBC radio producer, producing programmes such as Woman's Hour on Radio 4, and Outlook on BBC World Service radio, and ran the United Nations radio operation in Kosovo. She is responsible for the national and Catholic media output and communications strategies in relation to all aspects of CAFOD’s international programme work, including our responses to humanitarian emergencies. Elouise is our World News Officer and has worked for CAFOD since January 2016. She previously studied English Literature at Cardiff University and was Culture Editor of the university magazine, Quench, as well as hosting and producing radio shows for the student station. She is responsible for communication with national and Catholic media in relation to CAFOD’s international programme, humanitarian and emergency work.

Alan Jones is the interim Head of our UK News Unit. He joined CAFOD in April 2018. He previously worked as Head of Communications at the National Association of Local Councils, where he oversaw media relations, public relations, publications, digital communications, conferences and events. He began his career as journalist working for The Big Issue, The Financial Times and local newspapers. He is now responsible for our communications with the national media on all the UK aspects of our work. This includes policy matters, our campaigning activity and how CAFOD as an organisation is run. Rosie Heaton is our Regional News Officer. She has worked for CAFOD since May 2017 and is studying towards a degree in Public Relations. Rosie has previously worked with and volunteered for a number of third sector organisations, often working directly with volunteers to support them with their communications output. Anna Ford is Head of PR and joined CAFOD in February 2015. A former journalist for the Press Association, Anna has previously worked for CAFOD and Tearfund. She was then a Media Manager for Save the Children where she travelled to countries including Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Bangladesh, India and Mongolia to report on breaking news stories and showcase the charity’s work to journalists and celebrities.
