The change of government in Afghanistan in August 2021 following months of violent conflict led to mass displacement and loss of life and livelihoods. CAFOD’s two-phase response used funds from both a DEC and CAFOD appeal to provide life-saving support focusing on cash, food, non-food items, resilience, water and sanitation.
