We have a range of free teaching resources and inspiring ideas for the new academic year in your Catholic primary school or Catholic secondary school.

Our wide range of free teaching resources will help your pupils and students understand Catholic Social Teaching and inspire them to find ways of putting CST into action in your Catholic primary school or Catholic secondary school.

Brighten Up Cake Sale

1. Fundraising activities and ideas

Whenever and however you raise money, your support makes a real difference to our sisters and brothers around the world.

Hold a Brighten Up event or fundraise to help provide a family with a steady supply of clean, safe water by fundraising for a ‘Water for a Family’ World Gift.

Make fundraising easier by ordering a free pack containing a How to fundraise guide, poster, collection box and stickers.

2. Make the Jubilee Pledge

It's the final term of this historic Jubilee year. School communities in England and Wales have stepped forward as beacons of hope, with a commitment to live out Catholic Social Teaching and work together for the common good. Join hundreds of schools already on the Jubilee Pledge Map.

Make the Jubilee Pledge in the autumn and explore CAFOD's range of resources to help support your Pledge.

3. Autumn term resources: A better world needs all of us

This year we're reflecting on how a better world needs all of us through a water-tank project in Ethiopia run by CAFOD's partner, Abbiott.

4. Explore our range of Catholic Social Teaching resources

Put Catholic Social Teaching into action!

Looking for ways to enhance the Catholic life and mission of your school? Use our animation 'Catholic Social Teaching for children' with your class and order our CST poster.

We also have animations for secondary schools to support the Religious Education Directory. Our animations explore three foundational principles of Catholic Social Teaching: the common good, solidarity and subsidiarity.

5. Book a school visit

Our fully trained school volunteers are ready to offer engaging assemblies this term to give children and young people an insight into CAFOD’s work and inspire them to take action.

6. Free assembly resources

We have loads of great assembly ideas for busy teachers in Catholic schools. Whether you are looking for fun assembly ideas for global themes and international days, or a Catholic assembly for a key liturgical feast throughout 2025-26, our assemblies are ready to download and use with your students.

7. Take on CAFOD's Big Lent Walk

Did you know that pupils from 669 schools came together with teachers and parents to take on the Big Lent Walk challenge in 2025?

Take on a challenge next Lent and help fight global poverty! Plan a Big Lent walk during Lent 2026!

8. Cancel debt, choose hope

This Jubilee year, people across the world united in solidarity to demand action on the global debt crisis.

Did your school take the Jubilee debt action last year, calling on the UK government to cancel debt, choose hope? You can still take part this autumn term and don’t forget to let us know that you have taken part!
