Lokho's story
Lokho, a mother in northern Kenya, endured over 40 months of drought, which led to the loss of her livestock. However, her community's unity and generosity became a source of hope as they shared what little they had. Determined to create lasting change, Lokho and her neighbours started planting vegetables but faced challenges from the harsh climate and wildlife. They worked with our local partner to develop a shade net that protected their crops while allowing rain to nourish the soil. This innovation helped them secure their future.
