Loving God,
as we begin this season of Lent,
remembering we are dust,
yet abundantly loved by you
fill us with gratitude for all you have made.
Open in us your ways of generosity,
and may the gifts we offer
help us to share your love with all,
in our homes, our communities and our world.
Teach us to pray,
drawing us ever closer to you,
so that we may walk with Jesus
as he journeys to the Cross.
May our fast be pleasing to you,
freeing us to be present to the Spirit
and aware of the needs of others,
awakening in us a hunger for justice
Amen.
