Today we pray for a spirit of generosity, that we may take no more than we need and give of ourselves to one another.

Reflection
As we eat simply today on Family Fast Day, we are reminded that all we have comes from God. We act in solidarity with our brothers and sisters both here and around the world who lack safe water or struggle to get food for their families.
We praise God today, thanking the Lord for all the wonderful gifts that we have been given. In the same spirit of generosity that has been shown to us, we gladly share what we can with others: our time, our talents, our prayers and our money. For “the earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world and all who live in it.” (Psalm 24:1)
Prayer
Creator God,
we praise your world and look with awe on all that is.
May we commit to heal the earth
and share your gifts in faith and trust.
Your glory is reflected in all that you have made, Lord.
Lead us now to follow the example of St Francis,
as we seek to build a better world
and sing a song of praise for all creation.
St Francis, pray for us.
