Stepping out to act

Lord of all life,
look with compassion on your people,
as we wait and watch in hope,
as we yearn and long for change.

Timeless and ever-living God,
grant us patience and perseverance,
for we cannot always see the end.

Now is the time,
now is the hour,
to act with generosity,
wisdom and understanding.

May we set our hearts
towards your love,
and our minds
towards your will,
as we step out with courage
along the paths of peace,
and the ways of justice.

We ask this in the name of your Son,
our brother Jesus Christ,
Amen.
