CAFOD

In our Every Second Counts Annual Report we share examples of the work achieved through your donations over the last year.

Since writing this report we saw the devastating news of the conflict in Sudan and the continued escalation of the war in Ukraine through the attack on the Kakhovka Dam. We ask that you keep all those caught up in emergencies in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for making Every Second Count

Thank you for reaching out to communities in crisis through Every Second Counts. You truly are offering a lifeline to families in the greatest need.

Your support is helping

Over the past four years, your donations have enabled CAFOD to support 108 projects in 18 countries, reaching 52,320 people.

Spotlight on advocacy

CAFOD’s local partners are often at the frontlines of crises. The Church, faith-based organisations and other local groups we support have relationships with those who are the most unrepresented and are often furthest away from established infrastructure. They work in ways that can more effectively empower communities to cope in times of crisis because they are themselves rooted in those communities.

For these reasons, we invest a proportion of your generous Every Second Counts donations into supporting our local partners to bring that experience to the attention of decision-makers in the United Nations, governments and other agencies responsible for coordinating the wider emergency response.

In this way, we take our practical emergency response experience and use that to influence the approach of others, which enables us to multiply the impact of our work and that of our local partners

Hope does not disappoint, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit given to us

Romans 5:2

Thanks to you, communities have been given the tools they need survive, to build back stronger and be prepared for future crises.

We cannot thank you enough for your kindness. However we still need your help. Today we are faced with the ongoing effects of climate change alongside conflict and natural disaster. These multi-layered crises are complex and need your support now to help save lives.
