CAFOD

The media reporting has moved on but the situation in Sudan remains very serious.

In Sudan, nearly half of the country's population are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance.

One year since it started, the conflict in Sudan has forced millions of people to flee violence and leave behind jobs, personal belongings and loved ones. Food, water and medicine are all running out, and now communities face an even more immediate crisis – hunger.

At least 25 million Sudanese need immediate, emergency help. Families are already going hungry and famine is looming. This crisis threatens to become the worst in living memory.

Your help can make a difference

Many aid agencies exited Sudan when the fighting erupted a year ago. Right now Catholic agencies in the Caritas network that CAFOD is part of, supported by the Catholic church of Sudan, are some of the only organisations able to deliver aid to support the Sudanese people.

While we are working hard to keep our staff and partners safe at this time, there are many challenges ahead until a safe humanitarian passage is secured. If you can help us stay put and ready to support people in Sudan and beyond, please consider making a donation to Every Second Counts.
