Let us bring gifts

A child is born,
in poverty,
in a busy city,
on the edge of society,
amongst strangers,
far from home,
in Syria, South Sudan,
in Brazil.

New parents
dream, dreams
of schools,
of medicines,
of food,
of a better future.

Let us bring gifts
of compassion, solidarity and justice.
