A conflict on this scale, with the needs it is forcing on ordinary people in Sudan, means many months and probably years of suffering, and rebuilding.

But CAFOD's partners in Sudan - mostly Church partners - are there for the long term - which means that you, as you support their work and pray for them - are there for the long term too.

What is the response now?

As you know, humanitarian aid like food parcels - made possible by your Sudan appeal giving - are being deployed right now in refugee camps and areas worst affected.

But our Caritas and Church partners are also working hard on much needed, major works to make that aid possible.

Resourced by your donations at Fast Days and other key CAFOD moments, they are also fixing wells and boreholes damaged in the fighting. People urgently need water, so these water points are crucial.
