On Sunday 7 September a team of 16 runners took on the Great North Run from Newcastle to South Shields. Our Fundraising Events Manager Neil Roper and his wife Amanda went along to enjoy the atmosphere and support our brave runners.
Neil takes up the story: "Standing at mile 3, it was such a joy to spot our team of 16 as they came powering past with determination (and big smiles, despite the early hills!). Each runner carried the spirit of CAFOD’s mission with them, and it was inspiring to witness their energy and commitment up close."

Neil continues: "It was an amazing day, seeing the CAFOD runners competing alongside the 60,000 others taking part in the Great North Run. Afterwards there were photos, celebrations and aching legs. For those who made it, there was an after-race reception at St Bede's Church in South Shields."
