CAFOD's faith values, guided by Catholic Social Teaching, compel us to uphold the intrinsic dignity of every human being and stand in solidarity with those who are experiencing injustice, discrimination and exclusion. Gender discrimination is the world’s most widespread form of social exclusion – with women and girls in particular facing pervasive threats and barriers of many kinds in the world at large, in the Church and in the workplace.
The goal of the strategy is to deliver a transformative agenda on gender justice with confidence, consistency and accountability within our organisation and across all areas of our work. The strategy identifies the reasons why gender justice is important for us as a Catholic agency, where it fits within our wider transformative inclusion goal, our scope and added value, as well as where we aim to invest our efforts going forward.
The strategy sets out five key outcome areas which will be the focus of our efforts and accompanying implementation plans over the next three years. These are:
the workplace
projects and programmes
partnerships
external communications and supporter engagement
external influencing.
