The information here is related to CAFOD’s use of Fundraise Up for the purpose of processing one-off or regular donations via our website.  

Information we collect and why 

When you use this platform to make a donation, we will collect the following information from you:  

  • name

  • email address

  • full postal address

  • consent options.

Fundraise Up also captures and shares information with us about the CAFOD webpage, email, QR code, Facebook, Google, Instagram, or other social advertising you clicked from to arrive at our donation page. We use this data to measure and improve the effectiveness of our marketing efforts.

All information is stored securely within the Fundraise Up platform and within CAFOD’s database. We are committed to protecting personal information, and will not share your data with any other charity, public body or commercial organisation for their marketing purposes.

Fees explained 

CAFOD pays 4.2% plus 10p processing fees to Fundraise Up and Stripe. When you opt to cover fees we ensure more of your money goes towards helping us be there for more people in our time of need. 

These fees include: 

  • 3% Fundraise Up platform fee (also includes address verification tool) 

  • 1.2% + 10p transaction fee for UK credit or debit cards. 

If you’re making your donation through PayPal, 1.4% + 20p is charged per transaction as well as the 3% Fundraise Up platform fee.  

Cookies  

This platform also uses two Strictly Necessary cookies to set user preferences, remember session content and help with anti-fraud detection. For more details about the cookies we use, please see our cookie policy.

Data sharing and international transfers  

Data is only shared with Fundraise Up for the purposes of service provision. Fundraise Up has a server in the UK, which means that some information will be processed in the UK, but some personal data may also be processed in the United States. CAFOD has ensured that adequate and recognised safeguards are in place before any necessary international data transfers take place.  

How long do we keep your data?  

We will keep your personal data only for as long as we consider it necessary to carry out each processing activity. Please see our full privacy notice for further details.
