Our beautiful Lenten prayers and reflections offer you the opportunity to reflect on your own or in your parish.
If you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday. And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.
Heavenly Father,
As we walk through this sacred season of Lent, a time of repentance, renewal, and hope, we come before you with humble hearts, lifting up the people of South Sudan.
Lord, we are mindful of the suffering caused by climate change, the floods, droughts, and hunger that afflict many communities. Grant us wisdom to care for your creation and courage to act in solidarity with those most affected.
We pray for our nation amid political instability and conflict, where fear and division continue to wound hearts and hinder peace. Pour out your Spirit of reconciliation and guide our leaders toward justice, unity, and lasting stability.
We remember the ongoing conflict in Sudan, whose effects spill into South Sudan, displacing families, increasing hardship, and stretching our capacity to respond. May your mercy and peace reach all who are suffering.
Amid funding constraints and growing needs, Lord, strengthen those who serve the vulnerable and sustain organizations striving to bring hope and relief. Remind us that even in scarcity, your grace abounds.
As we reflect on Christ’s journey to the Cross, renew in us compassion, courage, and faith, that we may be instruments of Your peace, justice, and healing in our land.
Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
