Intention
Today we pray for God’s guidance, so that our lives may share his love with all creation.
Canticle of the Sun
“We praise you, Lord,
for Sister Moon and the Stars,
in the heavens you have made them,
bright, precious and fair.”
Reflection
When was the last time you saw a really starry sky? For those of us in cities, it is an all too rare occurrence as light pollution drowns out the darkness.
God’s love is like the stars shining down upon us, guiding us in the right path. We are called to share this love with all creation – through our care for one another and for the earth, our common home.
Prayer
Creator God,
your night sky offers rest and stillness,
yet we flood our cities with light.
Forgive us for our wasteful ways.
May the beauty of the heavens inspire us, Lord,
and lead us to follow the example of St Francis,
as we seek to build a better world
and sing a song of praise for all creation.
St Francis, pray for us.
