Intention
Today we pray that nourished by God’s love, we can play our part in ensuring that both people and the earth may flourish in a way that is sustainable now and into the future.

Reflection
God created the world and saw that it was good. Thanks to God’s abundant generosity there is enough for all people to flourish.
Lokho, is part of a community garden in Kenya, where they grow spinach, tomatoes, peppers and other vegetables. The women have worked together, with the support of Wakera, a local expert, to grow these crops despite the dry and hot conditions.
Lokho’s daughter Worqi says, “My favourite food is vegetables, the ones my mum grows. I like rice with onions and tomatoes and potatoes.”
Though our actions, our gifts and our prayers, we seek to create a movement of hope so that all of us can have what we need to flourish, just as God intended.
Prayer
Creator God,
we thank you for the wonders
of the earth, our common home,
and all that you have made to nourish and sustain us.
Forgives us for the times when we have taken more than we need.
Feed us now with your love, O Lord,
and lead us to follow the example of St Francis,
as we seek to build a better world
and sing a song of praise for all creation.
