Supporting the Gaza Crisis Appeal in your parish

As the conflict in Gaza continues, CAFOD and our Church partners are there, responding.

Your donations since the start of the conflict have been a vital lifeline. Right now, CAFOD's partner, Caritas Jerusalem, is delivering essential medical treatment to displaced people and providing medicines to treat chronic illnesses. We have helped 1,400 households with cash to buy supplies in the last month and we are currently feeding 2,000 people with new stocks of flour and rice.

Read more about how CAFOD is responding, thanks to the support of people of like you.

Despite the restrictions on aid coming into Gaza, CAFOD's local partners are working tirelessly to help people. With your ongoing support, they will do all in their power to keep doing so.

How can my parish help?

  1. Share this update with your parish - Include this update in your parish newsletter. It includes details on how, thanks to your support, CAFOD is responding to the crisis and on where to go for more information.

  2. Pray for peace - Come together as a parish to pray for a lasting peace in the Holy Land. You can also add your name to our message of prayer that we will be sending to our partners working on the ground.

  3. Support Family Fast Day - Harvest Family Fast Day is on the 3rd October. Your parish's support at Fast Days makes all of our work possible, including our response in Gaza. Please support Family Fast Day in your parish this Autumn.

  4. Donate - Donate to our Gaza Crisis Appeal. After nearly two years of conflict, every donation counts.

How will my parish's donations help?

Millions across the Middle East have fled their homes in search of safety. They urgently need shelter, food and basic supplies.

Our partners are helping these families right now as they arrive in safer areas. Your donations will help them to provide:

  • emergency healthcare

  • food packages

  • safe shelter

  • hygiene kits

  • mental health support

  • cash to buy fuel, blankets and other essentials.

With you, I implore from heaven the peace that we find so hard to build on earth. I implore it for Lebanon and for the entire Middle East. Lebanon is, and must remain, a project for peace.
