In late January, M23 rebels gained control of Goma, the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, triggering a major humanitarian crisis. We have now heard news from our team in Goma about Daniel, the young carpenter who featured in our previous Harvest Family Fast Day. Our colleague Katy visited Daniel. She said that Daniel’s workshop was still functioning but business was slow due to the conflict. Katy told Daniel that CAFOD’s parish volunteers were praying for him and he sent back this message: “please tell them to continue praying for peace for our area. Where there is peace, all is well.”
