Christmas Day has finally arrived. It is time to celebrate and rejoice, as the shepherds did when they heard the angels proclaiming the good news out in the fields that night.
The ultimate sign of God’s love for us is made real and present in our world in the form of a vulnerable child, born in a lowly stable because there was no room at the inn.
As we come in love and humility before the manger today, let us seek the face of God in all those who are vulnerable, who are unsheltered, who face persecution or conflict.
And together let us rejoice and sing a new song of praise, for today a Saviour has been born to us.
God of light,
we sing a song of praise as we rejoice
at the birth of Christ our Saviour.
Grant us peace and lead us
to new life with you.
May the grace of the Jubilee
spread the joy and peace of our Redeemer
throughout the earth.
